Adding a Member
This guide explains how to add a new member to your CiviCRM database.
1. Log in to the WordPress Admin Dashboard
First, Login to the Wordpress Admin Dashboard.
2. Access CiviCRM
- In the WordPress admin sidebar, click on CiviCRM to open the CiviCRM dashboard.
3. Add a New Member
- In CiviCRM, go to Contacts > New Individual.

- Fill in the member's details (name, email, address, etc.).

Note: Name and email are essential. Without both, the member will not be able to log in to the members-only area.
-
Add Aril Society Extra Information
- On the contact's profile, look for the aril_extra section.
- Enter the relevant information, especially the Sale Credits field, which is important for tracking member credits.

-
Add Notes (Optional)
- In the Notes section, you can add notes to the member's record for any extra information.

-
Click Save
4. Assign Membership
- On the contact's summary page, click Memberships > Add Membership.
-
Select the appropriate membership type and fill in the start date.

-
Click Save to add the membership.
The new member is now added to your CiviCRM database with an active membership. This user's wordpress account will be created when the daily update happens.
5. Force WordPress Account Creation Immediately
If you need the new member to have a WordPress account right away (instead of waiting for the daily sync):
- In the WordPress admin sidebar, go to CiviCRM → Member Sync → Manual Synchronize.
- Check the box for Create WordPress Users.
- Make sure Dry Run is unchecked.
- Click Synchronize Now.

This will immediately create WordPress accounts for any CiviCRM members who do not already have one. (Given they have a name and email address set in CiviCRM)
